Central Electronics Ltd. Touched Rs.1000 Cr Order Book Value, A Landmark in History

New Delhi, 14 June 2019: The Central Electronics Limited, A Public Sector Undertakings under Department of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India has crossed land mark level of Rs 1,000 Cr order book across its business verticals including Solar Photovoltaic, Railway Safety & Signaling equipment, Strategic Electronics and integrated Security & Surveillance systems.

CEL has pioneered Solar Photovoltaic in the country and has many notable mile stones to its credit. It today carries orders of over Rs 800 crores including Solar Power Plants, Solar Street Lights, Solar Water Pumping across more than 10 states in the country.

CEL has installed 32  Nos Solar Power Plants aggregating to 24MWpacross various districts in Maharashtra in recent times and is executing orders for over 75000 street lights in various states, under Atal Jyoti Yojna.

The Company continues to maintain a healthy market share in the Railway Safety & Signaling equipment vertical despite strong competition from private sector including a number of MNCs in this field. In the area of Strategic Electronics, CEL continues to develop and supply a range of equipment for strategic sector including missile radomes, Isolators & Circulators, Phase Control Modules , Bullet Proof jackets etc.

In the Security & Surveillance vertical, CEL is working with a number of leading Govt. agencies for implementation of Integrated Security & Surveillance systems at various locations in the country including para-military establishments, ministries, PSUs etc.

Central Electronics Limited is a Govt. of India Enterprise under the Dept. of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science & Technology. It was established in 1974 with an objective to commercially exploit indigenous technologies developed by National Laboratories and R&D Institutions in the country. CEL has pioneered Solar Photovoltaics in the country. After manufacturing India’s first solar cell in 1976 CEL went on to manufacture the country’s first solar panel in 1977. CEL also holds the distinction of supplying, installing and commissioning India’s first Solar Power Plant in 1992.
