New Delhi, 27 June 2019: The Central Electronics Limited, Pioneer in the field of Solar PV celebrated its 45th Annual Day. On this occasion Dr Shekhar C Mande, Secretary, DSIR & DG CSIR graced the occasion and inaugurated the Solar Technology Park developed by CEL and also dedicated to the nation 1500 sq. meter 200 KWp Solar BIPV warehouse and India’s first MW scale Centralized Battery Energy Storage System.
He further unveiled the plaque for IGBC Platinum Green Certification awarded to CEL Administrative area and presided over the distribution of wheel chairs, tricycles, artificial limbs, crutches to physically handicapped persons under CEL’s CSR programme.
Speaking at the function, Dr Mande commended CEL’s innovative efforts for popularizing use of solar energy amongst the asses, as well as efforts of the Company to maximize the use of Solar Power to meet its own requirements through installation of 1.3MW Solar Power Plants of different technologies on campus, meeting more than 50% of the Company’s requirement. Dr Mande appreciated CEL’s contribution to society in the form of rural & remote area development efforts as well as for meeting requirement of defense forces.
Hon’ble Chief Guest appreciated the innovative solar applications in the Solar Technology Park. The Solar Technology Park which has been set up with the objective of disseminating information about and demonstrating use of solar energy, displays a range of applications including solar trees, solar poles, solar bench, solar water pumping systems, BIPV Solar power plant, solar canopy, universal controller etc. The park uses green and eco-friendly construction materials and techniques as well as design principles to achieve highest level of eco-friendly design.
