New Delhi, 10 September 2024: In a boost to Aatmanirbhar Bharat, Ministry of Defence have signed contract with HAL for 240 AL-31FP Aero Engines for Su-30MKI Aircraft worth over ₹26,000 crore. Indigenous content to increase up to 63% over 8-year delivery. The contract was signed by the senior officials of MoD and HAL in the presence of Defence Secretary Shri Giridhar Aramane and Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari in New Delhi.
These aero engines will be manufactured at HAL’s Koraput Division over 8 years and are expected to fulfil the need of the Indian Air Force to sustain the operational capability of the Su-30 fleet for the defence preparedness of the country till 2050.
