Kolkata, 06 December 2024: The Coal India Limited organized the 22nd meeting of National Dust Prevention Committee was held at our corporate office in Kolkata. Representatives from the Safety & Rescue Departments of our Corporate HQ & Subsidiaries, Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL), NLC (India) Ltd., and other companies, attended the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, our Chairman, Shri P. M. Prasad, briefly elucidated on the need for sustainable mining and the role of effective dust management in and around coal mining areas, to attain sustainability.
Continuous ambient air quality monitoring, role of water management for prevention and suppression of dust, scientific studies & research on dust control were discussed in the meeting. Various suggestions for betterment of dust control management in the coal companies were also mooted at the meeting.
