New Delhi, 30 January 2025: REC Limited, a Maharatna CPSE under the Ministry of Power and a leading NBFC, under its flagship CSR initiative Mobile Medical Units has committed ₹4.29 crore for the procurement and deployment of four Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) in 4 districts of Punjab. These units, handed over to the Indian Red Cross Society, Punjab, were flagged off by Hon’ble Governor Shri Gulab Chand Kataria Ji at Punjab Raj Bhawan.
Serving as a lifeline for deprived communities, the MMUs will provide essential healthcare across four districts. REC Foundation continues to expand its CSR footprint, with various Mobile Medical units already operational across PAN India.
During the event, the Hon’ble Governor of Punjab praised REC’s initiative for bringing doorstep healthcare services to the deprived and other under privileged beneficiaries.
The flag-off ceremony at Raj Bhawan, Chandigarh, was attended by Shri K. Siva Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary to the Hon’ble Governor, Shri V.P. Singh, Principal Secretary to the Hon’ble Governor, Shri S. Dhillon, CEO of IRCS Punjab, and other senior state officials. Also present were Shri Pradeep Fellows, ED (CSR), REC and Shri M.A. Ali, Senior CPM, REC Panchkula.
REC Foundation has supported over 400 projects in healthcare, sanitation, clean water access, education and skill development, women empowerment, sports and environmental sustainability. With over Rs. 1,300 Crore disbursed in CSR funds, REC’s cumulative commitment to CSR activities exceeds Rs. 2,000 Crore till now.
