Rishikesh, 01 March 2025: Shri R K Vishnoi, CMD, THDC India Limited (THDCIL), conveyed that apart from venturing into different forms of energy generation, THDCIL is also emerging as a leader in consultancy services for slope stabilization solutions across India.
Strengthening its role in infrastructure safety, THDCIL has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), Dehradun, for the extension of its consultancy services for an additional three years.
Sh. Vishnoi added that under the MoU, THDCIL will continue as a consultant for studying landslide susceptibility areas and recommending mitigation measures for stretches under development, including the Chardham route, a part of the Kailash Mansarovar route, and other National Highways in Uttarakhand. The scope of work includes providing detailed designs, technical reports, and monitoring stabilization measures during execution. The estimated revenue from this assignment is approximately ₹40 crores.
Sh. Bhupender Gupta, Director (Technical), THDCIL, emphasized that the organization is adopting advanced geotechnical solutions, integrating flexible and conventional methodologies to address site-specific challenges effectively. This initiative will significantly enhance the safety and reliability of road infrastructure in Uttarakhand.
The MoU was signed by Sh. Sandeep Singhal, ED (Technical), THDCIL, and Sh. Deepak Kumar Sharma, Chief Engineer & RO, MoRTH Dehradun. Dr. Niraj Kumar Agrawal, General Manager, and Sh. Amit Shyam Gupta, Manager (D&E) from THDCIL, along with Sh. Puran Singh, Superintending Engineer, and Sh. Sumit Rupam Sourav, Executive Engineer, MoRTH Dehradun were also present during the occasion.
THDCIL is actively engaged in similar consultancy assignments across various regions, including MoRTH Arunachal Pradesh, MoRTH West Bengal, NHAI J&K, MoRTH Maharashtra, NHAI Pune, NHAI Shillong, UK State PWD and NHIDCL. Additionally, the company is providing critical slope protection and rockfall mitigation solutions for Shri Mata Vaishno Devi and Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Boards, reinforcing its commitment to infrastructure resilience and safety.
