Bangalore, 13 March 2025: BEL has signed a contract with the Ministry of Defence, GoI, valued at Rs. 2,463 Cr (excluding taxes) for supply & services of Ashwini Radars. The contract was signed by Dr Ajay Kumar, JS & AM (LS), MoD, & Shri K V Suresh Kumar, Director (Marketing), BEL today.
The indigenous AESA radars, developed by DRDO & BEL, have integrated IFF with electronic scanning in azimuth & elevation and are capable of 4D surveillance. With advanced ECCM features they can detect & track aerial targets: fighter aircraft to slow moving targets.
Numerous industry partners will participate in the production & supply of the radars. The order reflects the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat. With this, BEL has now accumulated orders totalling Rs. 17,030 Cr in the current financial year.
