Bangalore, 14 March 2025: Adm Dinesh K Tripathi, CNS, inaugurated Computational Resource for Artificial Intelligence Testing and Learning – CRYSTAL, Indian Navy’s first AI Data Centre and Lab, at the Indian Navy Incubation Centre for Artificial Intelligence (INICAI), Bangaluru.
With the launch of CRYSTAL, the Indian Navy now has an in-house high-end computing power capability for development of niche AI solutions. CRYSTAL will also serve as a testbed for MSMEs & Tech startups and its launch will further Navy’s vision with respect to “infusion of technology” as enunciated by CNS while setting up of two Special Task Forces on this subject in May 2024.
This facility aims to augment research, innovation, and development in cloud computing, AI, & data management, a significant milestone in advancing technology solutions in collaboration with diverse industries. During the inauguration, CNS highlighted that CRYSTAL reaffirms the Navy’s commitment to fostering technological infusion & contributing to India’s journey towards Atmanirbhar Bharat and Vikshit Bharat.
