New Delhi, 10 April 2025: The Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) and Implementation Agreement (IA) for the 50 MW Sampur Solar Power Project in Sri Lanka were successfully signed recently by Trincomalee Power Company Limited (TPCL, a 50:50 JV of NTPC and CEB), marking a significant milestone in renewable energy cooperation between India and Sri Lanka.
The signing ceremony was attended by key dignitaries, including the Minister of Energy and the Secretary (Energy) of the Government of Sri Lanka (GoSL), the Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Director (Finance), NTPC Limited and Executive Director (BD and Consultancy), NTPC.
The CEO of TPCL signed the PPA with the Chairman of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) and the IA with the Secretary (Treasury) of GoSL. This project, extendable to 120 MW, will play a crucial role in Sri Lanka’s clean energy transition.
