THDC Ltd. Observed Constitution Day with Enthusiasm & Reverence

Rishikesh, 27 November 2024: THDC India Limited (THDCIL), a leading PSU in the power generation sector, observed Constitution Day with enthusiasm and reverence across its Corporate Office, Project sites, and Unit offices.

On this occasion, Sh. R.K. Vishnoi, CMD, THDCIL, highlighted the significance of the Indian Constitution as a guiding document for democracy and inclusivity. He stated, “The Indian Constitution is the cornerstone of our democracy, ensuring justice, equality, and fraternity. To promote these values, we organized various events that not only educate but also inspire individuals to incorporate the principles of the Constitution in their daily lives. Such initiatives are crucial for building a just and equitable society.”

As part of the celebrations, THDCIL organized several events in schools run under its CSR initiatives, including Tehri Bandh Pariyojana Inter College, Bhagirathipuram, Tehri, and THDC High School, Rishikesh. Students and teachers recited the Preamble of the Indian Constitution under the leadership of their School Principals, reaffirming their commitment to the ideals of justice, liberty, and equality. Additionally, quiz and speech/allocution competitions were held to enhance students’ understanding of constitutional principles and their relevance in modern society. Priya Bisht and Hariom Soni secured the first prize in the quiz competition, while Mansi and Anshika Raikwal were awarded the first prize in the speech/allocution competition.

A separate quiz competition was also organized for THDCIL employees at Bhagirathi Bhawan to encourage awareness of constitutional values among the workforce. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, and the winners were felicitated during the ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, Sh. Shallinder Singh, Director (Personnel), congratulated all the winners and emphasized the importance of the Constitution in shaping a fair and inclusive society. “The Indian Constitution is a living document that continues to guide us toward creating a society rooted in equality, justice, and fraternity. I congratulate all the participants and winners of the competitions for their enthusiasm and dedication to learning about these principles,” he remarked.

Through such observances, THDCIL demonstrates its unwavering commitment to fostering awareness and understanding of the principles enshrined in the Constitution. The organization actively works towards embedding these values in its operations, policies, and community engagement initiatives, ensuring inclusivity and fairness in every sphere of its activities.
