New Delhi, 22 January 2025: In a significant step towards making Badam Coal Mining Project (CMP) of NTPC Mining Limited (NML) operational, a lease agreement for Gair Mazrua (GM) Land having area of 98.05 acres was signed between NML-Badam CMP and the District Administration of Hazaribagh in the Deputy Commissioner (DC) office Hazaribagh on 21st Jan 2025.
The lease agreement was signed between Shri. Manoj Kumar, CO-Barkagaon and Shri. Surajit Choudhary, DGM NTPC Mining Limited. The Lease signing was done in august presence of Deputy Commissioner Smt. Nancy Sahay, IAS; Additional Collector Shri. Santosh Singh; District Land Acquisition Officer Shri. Nirbhay Kumar ; Deputy Collector Land Reforms/SDM, Shri. Raj Kishore, HOP Badam CMP Shri. Arun Kumar Saxena, GM Infra Badam CMP Shri. Subhranshu Sekhar Mishra , Shri. Dharni Kant Jha, AVP BGR (MDO) and other officials from DC office ,NTPC Mining Limited and M/s BGR Infra which is MDO of the project.
On this occasion DC Hazaribagh expressed happiness that Badam CMP was taking shape and extended her best wishes to NTPC for early start of Badam Coal Mine.
HOP Badam CMP ,Shri. Arun Kumar Saxena extended thanks to District Administration for their continuous support, due to which Badam CMP has reached this stage. Further, he informed that , the project is going to sign the Mining Lease shortly and payments for private land in the block will also begin shortly. Additionally he told that Forest Land Handover activities are in advanced stage and it may occur by January 2025 end or shortly thereafter. He assured that all mining operations will be carried out in compliance with environmental and safety regulations .
Coal production for the NML Badam Coal Mining Project is expected to begin within the current financial year. The project aims to be a step towards self-reliance of India in Energy security with sustainable development. It will also support the local economy through job creation and infrastructure development.
